2020 Vision Capital Campaign Post 2

Pastor’s Column

Sunday, Nov 3, 2019

 Dear Friends,

We have officially launched our 2020 Vision Capital Campaign to Rebuild, Renew and Restore the SJA Parish Center.  We all received our pledge cards this week. Please let me know if you didn’t receive one. A pledge card was sent to every household in the parish; I hope every household can participate at least at some level. Give the campaign and the appeal some thought and prayer. I hope you’ll be able to make a gift on any size. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

We’ll have people in the back of church this Saturday after the 4:30pm Mass and then coffee and donuts in the cafeteria after Sunday Masses to answer any questions or help you with your pledge card/online gift. The presentation board will also be available for viewing.

As I mentioned last week, this is one more piece of the puzzle that we started four years ago making considerable and long-lasting capital improvements to the school building/parish center. As we prepare SJA for the future, this renovation project will prepare the Parish Center/Gymnasium for another 40 years of parish and community events!

A few notes about the 2020 Vision Campaign:

1.     We are not using a consulting firm to assist with the campaign. These firms are expenses and we have the talent in the parish to make it happen without them.

2.     Our overhead expenses are low: the highest expense in the campaign was the postage getting the envelopes to your house! Total overhead costs are less than $2000.

3.     If we raise the whole $150,000 we will not have to take a loan from the Archdiocese. That’s always a good thing!

4.     I’ll be coordinating the different contractors for the work. And we also have parishioners with various skills who will be doing some of the work!

Coming in November there will be another exciting announcement. This one having to do with our Prayer and Worship Life! It’ll be a new apostolate geared toward depending our prayer life, our interior life with God.  I’m very, very excited about it. More details forthcoming.

Life is good at SJA. God is good all the time!

Know that you are loved dearly and prayed for daily
