Who can I talk to about returning to the faith or learning to become a Catholic?
Fr Brad is an excellent person to speak to about rejoining the community or becoming a Catholic for the first time.
For those joining the faith for the first time, St. Joan of Arc has an established Christian Initiation program you may join.  Check out the Journey of Faith Page to learn more.

How can I talk to a priest in an emergency?
Please call the parish Rectory Office.  


volunteering

I am interested in volunteering time for the Parish.  How do I start?
Volunteering is a great way to contribute to the parish and build new friendships. For ideas on how to help out and for more information, please check out the Get Involved Page


baptism

What do I need to have my infant baptized?
Congratulations!  Baptisms take place on the last Sunday of the month (except during Lent). Parents must contact the Rectory to arrange for the Baptism as well as to set a date for the Pre-Baptism Class (required only for parents who have not attended a Pre-Baptism Class in the past).


religious education

How do I register my children for Religious Education classes?
For those children not attending South City Catholic Academy, you have the option of enrolling your child in weekly Religious Education classes.  These classes are offered at St. John the Baptist School.  Please contact Ms. Nancy Haselhorst, CRE at (314) 773-3070 or stl.scdpsr@gmail.com

I want my child to receive First Communion or be Confirmed.  What do I need to do?
If you would like your child to receive the sacraments such as First Communion or Confirmation, he or she can be included in South City Catholic Academy Grade School's sacrament preparation. First Reconciliation and First Communion is given to the 2nd Grade class in November and after Easter, respectively.  Confirmation is given to the 8th grade class after Easter.  Please contact our Rectory Office at (314) 832-2838


MARRIAGE

I would like to get married at St. Joan of Arc Church.  What do I need to do?
Please make arrangements with a priest or deacon at least six months prior to your wedding. Please call the Rectory Office to check Church availability at (314) 832-2838.


anointing of the sick

Someone in my family is in a nursing home or is ill.  How do I arrange for Father to visit them?
Anointing of the Sick, Hospital Visitation, or Communion calls are for anyone who is elderly, homebound, ill, or in danger of death.
Any parishioner or family member may call the Rectory Office at (314) 832-2838 to make a request.


funerals

Someone in my family has passed away.  How do I arrange a funeral Mass?
Funerals and Memorial Masses may be arranged either through the mortuary of your choice (the mortuary will contact the parish) or by contacting the Parish Rectory Office directly.


devotions

Is there a Holy Hour where I can pray before the exposed Blessed Sacrament?
Eucharistic Exposition and Benediction are offered on Saturday afternoons: 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm and on Wednesdays from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm.


School

Does St. Joan of Arc Parish have a school?

Yes, St. Joan of Arc Parish has partnered with Our Lady of Sorrows and the St. Louis Archdiocese to support the South City Catholic Academy.  The school is for students PreK-8th.  For more information, checkout their website.
